HSC English – How to Ace Unseen Texts for the HSC

Worried about the short answer section of your HSC English exam in Paper 1? Want to learn how to effectively analyse unseen texts so you can get those extra marks?

In this HSC Kickstarter Holiday Workshop, an experienced English teacher is going to show you how to tackle the unseen texts segment of the HSC English course and smash that Band 6!

You don’t have to do it alone! In this HSC Kickstarter Holiday Workshop, one of our highly experienced teachers will help you master discursive and persuasive writing for HSC English Module C.

In this 3 hour workshop during the school holidays on Monday 20th April from 1.30-4.30pm we’re going to show you:

  • What sort of examples you need to include within your responses
  • How to structure a Band 6 discursive and persuasive piece
  • How to take a deep dive into key Module C texts which use the persuasive and discursive forms

James graduated from Knox Grammar where he scored an ATAR of 99.35. Adrian is a qualified high school teacher, who has a Bachelor of Science in Physics and Chemistry at the University of Sydney.  Adrian was awarded the University Medal in both Physics and Chemistry at Sydney University, for coming 1st in the university. He has also completed a Graduate Diploma in Education at the University of Queensland where he was awarded the Dean’s Commendation for Academic Excellence. Adrian is Head of Sciences at Art of Smart, and is very passionate about teaching and would like to see all students reach their full potential. Adrian has 5 years teaching experience supporting students across Chemistry, Physics and Maths, both in leading classes in schools and at our Hornsby Campus, as well as 1 on 1.

In this HSC Mastery Holiday Workshop, we’re going to help you master the Atomic Structure from Module 1 of the new HSC Chemistry syllabus!

In this 3 workshop during the school holidays on Tuesday 16th April from 9:30am-12:30pm, our Head of Science, Adrian will help you:

  • Master the SPDF notation for electron structures up to element 20.
  • Learn how to apply electronic structure and reasoning to exam style questions.
  • Review electronegativity, atomic radii, ionisation energy, valence, absorption/emission spectra
  • Get an in-depth understanding of electronic structure mass detection technique (Thompson’s experiment and mass spectrometry)
  • Master how to calculate molar mass from given information.
